About Our Firm
Paul A. Hawkinson, CPA, PC was founded in October of 2005 by Paul A. Hawkinson, Sr. to serve the tax, accounting and consulting needs of individuals and small businesses in the west Georgia area. We strive to strike the perfect balance between small, local, attentive service and professional experience and expertise.
Paul graduated from Georgia State University in 1994 with a BBA in accounting. He went back to Georgia State and received a MBA in accounting in 1999.
Paul began work in the accounting profession while still in high school with the Kroger Company in Douglasville, GA throughout high school and his undergraduate studies. He worked his way through the ranks of bagboy, cashier and customer service supervisor and started doing the accounting for the store. His aptitude for accounting and technology earned him a position installing and training other stores on the latest accounting systems.
Shortly before earning his BBA from GSU, Paul accepted a position with KPMG Peat Marwick, LLLP in Atlanta. Seeking to work in a smaller firm, he left KPMG to work for Miller, Ray, Healey and Houser in Buckhead and later worked several years with Moore & Cubbedge, LLP in Marietta before setting out to build his own practice.
Paul currently lives in Douglasville with his wife and their three boys.
